Pharmacist in Charge

Job description

  • $70/hr plus super.
  • Free accommodation with all utilities included.
  • Unique opportunity in Indigenous health in remote WA.

Client & Location Information:

Step into a fulfilling role as Pharmacist-in-Charge in a beautiful, remote coastal town in north-west Western Australia. While remote, this town is anything but isolated-offering all the essential services and regular transport links by road and air to larger regional hubs. It's a rare blend of outback tranquillity and connected living.

Job Specification:

This full-time position involves much more than typical dispensing. As the Pharmacist-in-Charge, you'll oversee the dispensary, manage stock and PBS claims, supervise an intern who's nearly completed their hours, and liaise closely with other healthcare providers in the region.

You'll be well supported by a retail manager and pharmacy assistants, with another pharmacist in the town available for occasional support-though they primarily focus on outreach work.

The roster runs Monday to Friday with a shared half-day Saturday rotation.

Skills Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a registered pharmacist (PIC experience not essential).

  • General (unrestricted) AHPRA registration.

  • A genuine interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Confidence in making autonomous clinical decisions.

  • Vaccination qualification.

Salary & Benefits:

  • $70/hr plus super.
  • Superannuation, relocation allowance, 5 weeks annual leave + TOIL

  • Free fully furnished accommodation with all utilities and Internet

  • Ongoing education and training support.

  • Modern pharmacy systems and reliable IT support.
