To work as a pharmacist in the USA or Canada, New Zealand pharmacists typically need to pass the relevant licensing exams and meet specific requirements.
For the USA, this involves the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE), the NAPLEX (North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination), and potentially other state-specific exams for a pharmacy license and some states may require a pharmacy internship or a certain amount of supervised practice hours before you can be fully licensed. The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) can provide further information.
In Canada, each province has its own licensing requirements, which may include bridging programs and written/oral exams. One of the best resources to help you move to Canada as a pharmacist in the Canadian Pharmacist Gateway.
