Client & Location Information
Public hospital located on the southwest coast of Victoria, located approx. 360 kilometres west-southwest of Melbourne. The hospital provides an integrated health service for the community, delivering services from a single campus and employs around 470 staff. It was was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services.
Appreciate the beautiful surroundings of the Glenelg Shire: Trek the Great South West Walk, visit Bridgewater Bay's rugged coastline, or explore Budj Bim (a World Heritage site) and Mount Richmond National Park.
Dates: Tuesday 3rd February, ideally for a minimum for 3 months, with potential to extend. No public holidays
Hours: Weekdays 8.30am - 5pm (Flexible)
Job Description: As the locum pharmacist you will be working alongside 3-4 other pharmacists to provide a ward- based clinical service which includes resolving medication related issues, supplying medications, completing the Medication Reconciliation Process, providing medicines information, counselling patients and assisting the discharge process.
- You will be working on rotation across the acute ward, subacute ward, outpatient speciality centres (dialysis and chemotherapy) and the urgent care centre.
- You will be experienced in using iPharmacy dispense for low script trade.
- No methadone dispensing or websters required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Registered as a pharmacist with the Australian Pharmacy Board (AHPRA)
- Experience with iPharmacy
- Hospital pharmacy experience is required (ideally Grade 2 or higher)
- Current National Police and Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Satisfactory evidence of vaccination status as required
Pay Rate: $85/hr + Super (Paid by Raven's)
Extras:
Travel: Capped travel contribution of $200 (total) to assist in getting to and from Portland. ** If locums wish to fly into Mt Gambier, a volunteer can pick them up from the airport. After hours, a service car can be used through out the duration of stay.
Accommodation has own bedroom with shared living space, kitchen and bathroom.
